and in the region as well:
I am working on a project called Disputed Waters. Me and several colleague independant (photo-) journalists trace the stories of five transboundary rivers where water risks becoming a source of conflict due to climate change and our increasing world population.
Since this project costs a lot of time and money, and no newspaper or magazine will cover all the expenses, we finance a big part ourselves.
If you might like to support our work, your help would be much appreciated. Any small bit helps! We will make sure every donation will be used to cover the costs of the project and will not be used as an income for ourselves.
Thanks!
Johannes
Yesterday I went up in the air in Germany for the Disputed Waters project.
This is the old river Rhine meandering along the canalized new Rhine.
This canalized Rhine is good for transportation, but can cause heavier floodings downstream.
The picture was made from an ultra light airplane, which was a bit hard to work from, because I had to photograph through a tiny hole in the window. But it was a lot cheaper than renting a helicopter …

Today in Le Monde Magazine a Disputed Waters publication about the Colorado River. With pictures from me and colleague Ronald the Hommel and text from Jeroen Kuiper.
